A Message from the President

The New York Hospital Training School for Nurses was founded in 1877 and its Alumnae Association was formally chartered in 1893. Its first newsletter, a single page, was published in 1896. The School became part of Cornell University in 1942, and was thereafter known as The New York Hospital-Cornell University School of Nursing.

Despite the closing of the School in 1979, its Alumni Association remains active. Newsletters published several times a year serve to bring updates on people and relevant events.

Our published history, Go, and Do Thou Likewise: A History of Cornell University-New York Hospital School of Nursing 1877-1979, is still available from the Alumni Office for a nominal fee to cover shipping.

Our Newsletter is mailed twice yearly in November and March. If you are not receiving your copies, please contact our secretary Michelle at alumnisec2021@gmail.com  to update your mailing information.

We are always seeking your nominations for Distinguished Alumni recognition and would appreciate your nominations by January 15, 2025. See the criteria for consideration.

As always, I look forward to seeing you.
